The Harley-Davison Ride-In Bike Show in Sturgis this year saw many competitors. Early in the morning the first bikes for the 2011 Edition of the Harley-Davison Ride-In Bike Show in Sturgis came roaring into the huge Harley-Davidson tent, situated in the centre of Sturgis, right in the heart of the 71st Sturgis Motorcycle Rally & Races, on the corner of 3rd and Lazelle.

Many cool bikes rolled in during the morning and people were busy washing and polishing their bikes for the 2011 Sturgis Harley-Davison Ride-In Bike Show. Judging them was a tough one! Fourteen different categories with many entries from all over the USA, almost one hundred bikes stood side by side, shining in the spotlights. The owners nervously walking around, checking out the competition, which was quite fierce this year, with many beautiful accessorized, chromed & painted Harley-Davidson’s. At four o’clock the winners were announced on the stage. Famous forever! Proudly they had their photo taken in a professional studio. Of course sitting on their beloved bikes and showing their 2011 Sturgis Harley-Davison Ride-In Bike Show trophies!

HOW the 2011 Sturgis Harley-Davison Ride-In Bike Show JUDGING WAS DONE:
Judging of the 2011 Sturgis Harley-Davison Ride-In Bike Show started at noon. Participating bikes could be entered in one class only for this event. Judging decision was based on total points awarded in each category for each class in the 2011 Sturgis Harley-Davison Ride-In Bike Show as shown.
Bikes in all classes in the 2011 Sturgis Harley-Davison Ride-In Bike Show (except Antique and Pro) had to have a current street license
Antiques in the 2011 Sturgis Harley-Davison Ride-In Bike Show were judged solely on their original or resto-original merits. “Pro” class is designed for bikes created by dealers, professional builders and other interests where the amount of sophistication or customization, in the opinion of the judges, is at a very high level and emphasis on everyday street function is a low priority.

Street Function: overall rideability, ergonomics and driveability
Paint: overall design, graphics, striping, use of color and quality of finish
Plating/Polishing: quality of finish, balance of components and etching
Antiques: originality
Engineering: innovation, safety, performance, handling and braking
Seat/Upholstery: style, comfort, originality and materials
Style: overall impression, balance of components and finish
