22ste Nationaal Veteraan Treffen op 22 september in Woerden.

Mooi weer, dus een enorme opkomst werd verwacht en inderdaad, al begin van de middag was het Excercitieveld in het centrum van Woerden, waar traditiegetrouw het Nationaal Veteraan Treffen wordt georganiseerd, al helemaal vol!

It was a great Rally, like every year. To keep the visitors on saturday afternoon entertained at the Rally site, the organizers of the International Rally H-DC 't Centrum Maarsseveen, Holland 2012 had some nice surprises for the many bikers that came to the Rally. Live music, a bike wash and a cool Rock 'n Roll band playing out of their car kept the party going and it was great fun.

In a beautiful sunset with the sun sparkling golden beams off the bikes, the winners of the Harley-Davidson Ride in Custom Bike Show were announced. It wasn't an easy job for the nine judges to decide who won. "The level is definitly higher than last year, even better than Sturgis!" said Nigel Villiers of Harley-Davidson. The 15th European Bike Week in Faak, also known as ‘Faakersee’ was already on Monday busy, the visitors kept coming in and by Wednesday the roads around Faak were full with motorcycles, from all over Europe people came to see Europe’s biggest bike event. The weather was good, except for the Wednesday evening, when all hell broke loose and a thunderstorm flooded the place. H-D did not want to take any risk, and with lightning striking all over the event site, they shut down the main stage and that must have been a tough, but wise decision. Good thing about European Bike Week at Faak is that you don’t have to pay for the live bands, (no income fee has to paid, anywhere, at European Bike Week in Faak!) the food is good and cheap, as is gas and a place to sleep.

One of the best kept secrets in Belgium is the RockabillyDay, in Assenede near Gent. This year the organization decided not to make it a Rockabilly weekend, but to just make it a one-day event. On Sunday september 2nd, the weather was perfect and during the morning the cars, bikes and visitors came to RockabillyDay ’12 in numbers, big numbers. Although the organizers thought that this year it would be a small event, due to the economy and expectations, the enormous crowd attending this year’s RoockabillyDay proved them wrong!
