RockabillyDay Belgium 2012

One of the best kept secrets in Belgium is the RockabillyDay, in Assenede near Gent. This year the organization decided not to make it a Rockabilly weekend, but to just make it a one-day event. On Sunday september 2nd, the weather was perfect and during the morning the cars, bikes and visitors came to RockabillyDay ’12 in numbers, big numbers. Although the organizers thought that this year it would be a small event, due to the economy and expectations, the enormous crowd attending this year’s RoockabillyDay proved them wrong!

RockabillyDay took place on three large fields, one for the motorcycles, one for may vendors with stands with everything for salet hat was, looked or seemed Vintage, and many old cars. The next one was for the cool custom cars, like hot rods and led sleds and of course the bars, main stage and more vendors stands. The parking lot for the motorcycles was full halfway the afternoon, the car park was full beginning of the afternoon… Visitors had to park their cars down the street, as far as the other side of the highway. It was crazy, so many people came to Assenede! The fields were filled with the coolest bikes and cars you’ll find in Belgum, but also with many coming from as far as Holland, France and Germany.

RockabillyDay proved to be a great succes, the huge crowd loved watching the great bands playing, looking at beautiful bikes and cars and of course the nicely Rock ’n Roll style dressed people made it the perfect RockabillyDay! Thanks a lot to RockabillyDay 2012 for a great event!
